We Need Our Good Bacteria
00.26 // 0 komentar // Richard Max // Category: bacteria , dr joe , probiotics //since the invention of the microscope and the discovery of penicillin bacteria humanity is seen as some kind of enemy to be destroyed. While it is true that some bacteria do not cause infection, it is actually a relatively small number compared to the bacteria, which do no harm and actually help us.
In fact, the body needs good bacteria for good health. healthy gut should have about two kg (four pounds) of good bacteria to help with the absorption of food. Other body parts like skin and throat female genital tract can also rely on the good bacteria. When they left the problems start.
For example, when women get thrush (yeast infection), after a course of antibiotics due to the loss of good bacteria from the vagina. When people get diarrhea after a course of antibiotics, again due to the loss of good bacteria. Antibiotic associated diarrhea is a growing problem with the estimated 350 000 cases and 20 000 deaths each year from the U.S..
the indiscriminate use of antibiotics is largely to blame for it. We used antibiotics when a viral illness, and we saw this as a medication without a downside. Use of antibiotics in agriculture is another major problem. Film Food Inc. showed this clearly. Cattle are fed corn instead of grass, which is his usual food. Giving them the wrong diet changes the pH in the intestines of cattle which makes it easier for "bad" bacteria such as E. coli to breed. The animals are then given antibiotics to kill bacteria.
You would think a lot easier to just let the cattle eat grass in the first place.
There is another contributor to the loss of good bacteria from the intestine out and a number of problems this causes. increase in inflammatory conditions such as asthma and eczema in the past 40 years there has been no equal worldwide. It mainly occurs in those eating Western diets rich in sugars and processed foods and low in vegetables.
study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences looked gut bacteria in children in Europe than in rural Africa. It was found that there is very little difference at birth, but that time is eating a local diet of African children not only to more bacteria, but a lot more variety as well.
In addition, European children had higher numbers of bacteria associated with diarrhea, while Africans have more species associated with the production of useful compounds such as short chain fatty acids that help suppress inflammation.
At the end of the study concluded that healthy levels of good bacteria, not only kept the "bad" bacteria, but also, by themselves, can help reduce disease through the production of useful compounds. Gut bacteria play an important role in the immune system.
It is therefore not surprising that inflammatory conditions, which are due to some "failure" of the immune system, where the common gut bacteria are reduced. Putting the good bacteria is easier to treat than long-term illness. It's a bit sad that this type of research is in medical journals. Is it assumed that because there are a lot more money to be made in finding treatments expensive patentable.
then the good news is that much can be done to improve this. Cut down on processed foods and increase your intake of real food such as fruits vegetables and legumes. Looking for grass fed meat. Consider taking probiotics.
Let your children get a little dirty from time to time and not feel the need to sanitize every square inch of the house constantly for fear of "germs" when in fact we actually kill the good bacteria that we need. To make your house clean, but not sterile. We are (re) learning that exposure to dirt is really important for children in the developing immune system.
once again shows that this is a solution to prevent the disease substantially located in a fairly simple measures which in fact support the body for what it really wants to do, that will be healthy.
